The long and winding roaddddd 🎶 bum bummm 🎶

We took our Maiden Voyage today!! 

If I'm being honest, I was totally anxious. I'm guessing just because it was something new. Plus, we almost didn't go. Liam has been dealing with some digestive issues that have been causing him a fair amount of discomfort. When we told him we would go say hi to Gigi, he agreed to go.

It was so, so wild to see him on that lift!! It feels like we've waited forever and that it happened so quickly, simultaneously. 

I do, though, need to call and have Liam's chair adjusted again. The headrest had his head in there so snug, his neck and shoulder started to get sore by the time we got home. Nothing a little heating pad couldn't fix, but I'd love for him to just be comfortable. 

Anyhoo, Gram seemed to be really excited when we surprised her. I don't think she was expecting all of us to show up outside her house, hahaha. Andrew kept pulling our hands to his seat belt to unbuckle it when we were there. He wanted to go upstairs with her! He tried to pay her off with his smooches, but Liam was getting antsy. I'll take him there soon. I tend to forget how much he loves it there, because going on rides is sort of his and Scott's special time together. 

I'm just so stinkin' excited that we were able to do this. I can't wait to get Liam acclimated to taking rides while sitting up! It's got to be such a huge change from laying down on the seat.

Anyhoo, that's all for today! My hopes for tomorrow is for Andrew to have a nice, happy day, and for Liam to find some more comfort. Fingers crossed!

Casey would love to ride on the lift! So happy for you all to get to be out and about together with less finagling with Liam’s chair in and out of the house and van!

Today started off really great. Gram came to visit and Michael came to do respite with Andrew. Both of the boys had a fabulous day with great moods all around. Gram and I usually check in with each other before bed, but she called me a lot earlier than usual today. She called to tell me that my mother called her. Take these broken wings and learn to fly

I forgot to blog yesterday! Whoops. I was so exhausted after dancing my heart out the night before, hahaha. Today was a good day! We were supposed to have a planned power outage for line maintenance, but that never happened. I think that means it'll happen tomorrow.  My favorite part of today was right before I had to start the bedtime routine. Scott got stuck late at work, so I was solo with the boys. Andrew was playing with his big blue ball, and started throwing it to me. While Liam was watching us, he was laughing his tail right off. I thought since he was enjoying watching so much, he'd like to join in. I handed him the ball to "catch," and kept egging him on to throw it. Eventually he pushed it off of his lap back to me, and he was so proud of himself! Rightfully so. That turned into all three of us spending 45 minutes straight throwing the ball to each other. Super crazy day today! I had a meeting with Liam's care coordinator on top of his regular therapies.  Plus I went to go help Gram set up her new router and modem. Everything went super smoothly, until we realized her landline didn't connect properly. That was a headache and a half! Glad we were able to get it all sorted for her. Andrew had his third great (direct quote!!!) day at school in a row! I'm so excited for him. I hope the break between summer services and the beginning of the school year doesn't fuss with his groove too much. They sent home this crown that he made today, and my heart can't handle how adorable it is. I'm also getting so excited for Sunday! My sister is coming into town. Her and one of my greatest friends are going to see Gavin DeGraw at the Spiedie Fest! I haven't seen him in concert since I was in braces, but my love for him has never wavered, bahahahaha. I can't wait!
