The Wheels on the Bus Go 'Round and 'Round

I think I may have made a mistake. Since Liam wasn't (well, isn't) feeling well, I decided to give him his tablet in bed. That way he could watch his beloved "5 Little Ducks" while also watching Shrek. Now it's a bunch of kid's songs on repeat, hence the title of today's entry. I say I might have made a mistake, but I don't actually care. I might be a push over, but if it makes him happy, it is what it is, haha.

I canceled Liam's therapies today, because he was still running a low grade fever and was super junky. If there's further improvement, we'll try for therapies tomorrow. He slept great last night, but I found myself scared, waking up every 20 minutes or so to check on him. I'm really grateful that it was just for my peace of mind, and not necessity. I ended up taking a nap while he did, after I got AJ on the bus. 

When I went to get Andrew off the bus, I was absolutely floored to see that the aide today was my "Aunt Colie." I haven't seen her in the longest time, but I've known her since I was just a baby. The only birthday party I have vivid memories of, was my 4th birthday that she threw for me while my parents were with my sister having a biopsy taken. She's such a sweet person.

While Andrew was at school, the engineer came to do an inspection of the deck and cement foundation for the lift install. They had to make a couple of minor tweaks, but I'm shocked to say that the lift is going to be installed tomorrow! I can't wait to see how everything comes together. After waiting for such a long time, it seems like this is all happening so quickly! I realize how contradictory that sounds, but it's true. 

The news crew is going to be back tomorrow to get footage of the ramp installation. I really hope that so many news stories on this gets them some recognition, recipients, and donations! They're really an amazing foundation. 

We're going to do a little reception for the folks who fundraised, promoted, and worked on this. I can't decide if I want to make them an eclair cake or a yum-yum cake yet. I also want to figure out what other foods I can put together.

I am so excited to be able to take Liam for a walk in his wheelchair! That, and to have my God parents over for dinner. My Aunt Judy is also a wheelchair user, and it's broken my heart that in almost 4 years, I haven't been able to get her inside our home yet. Soon!!! 

For today's unnecessary picture, I've added a picture of Andrew, Scott, Penny, and me snuggling in bed after we got Liam settled into bed. He was about 6ft away from us when I took this. He looks at us like we all have three heads when we pile into bed for a snuggle session, hahaha.

Today started off really great. Gram came to visit and Michael came to do respite with Andrew. Both of the boys had a fabulous day with great moods all around. Gram and I usually check in with each other before bed, but she called me a lot earlier than usual today. She called to tell me that my mother called her. As her and I were talking on her cellphone, my mother called her on her landline again. I heard her say some pretty awful things to my Gram, but she held her composure really well. Take these broken wings and learn to fly

I forgot to blog yesterday! Whoops. I was so exhausted after dancing my heart out the night before, hahaha. Today was a good day! We were supposed to have a planned power outage for line maintenance, but that never happened. I think that means it'll happen tomorrow.  My favorite part of today was right before I had to start the bedtime routine. Scott got stuck late at work, so I was solo with the boys. Andrew was playing with his big blue ball, and started throwing it to me. While Liam was watching us, he was laughing his tail right off. I thought since he was enjoying watching so much, he'd like to join in. I handed him the ball to "catch," and kept egging him on to throw it. Eventually he pushed it off of his lap back to me, and he was so proud of himself! Rightfully so. That turned into all three of us spending 45 minutes straight throwing the ball to each other. Super crazy day today! I had a meeting with Liam's care coordinator on top of his regular therapies.  Plus I went to go help Gram set up her new router and modem. Everything went super smoothly, until we realized her landline didn't connect properly. That was a headache and a half! Glad we were able to get it all sorted for her. Andrew had his third great (direct quote!!!) day at school in a row! I'm so excited for him. I hope the break between summer services and the beginning of the school year doesn't fuss with his groove too much. They sent home this crown that he made today, and my heart can't handle how adorable it is. I'm also getting so excited for Sunday! My sister is coming into town. Her and one of my greatest friends are going to see Gavin DeGraw at the Spiedie Fest! I haven't seen him in concert since I was in braces, but my love for him has never wavered, bahahahaha. I can't wait!
